Welcome to Chongqing!!!
This morning's view of the shore
***
4 ferries docked next together.
Our ship, next to another.
***
My pen-rendering of that first full day in Beijing: Tin-A-Men Square.
I took a last minute moment to paint in some color.
So at least I could say I did a little bit of water color painting while on the river cruise.
***
The weather today...
Light rain.
***
Found a robot barista.
Dancing to get our attention.
Attention got.
Imagine the robot narrating how they make the coffee.
Step 1: you get a cup.
Coffee = very meh.
Novelty = excellent.
***
Also seen at Chongqing - a monorail, going into a mixed-use commercial/residential building.
Mural
***
View of the river.
***
The 18-Steps Market.
Making noodles.
Got soft-serve ice-cream
Twice.
And also got a really cool cup, made of bamboo.
*****
Old-Style Teahouse!!!
What a highlight.
Got to sit down to tea
It's just like I imagined the way the characters in Peal S. Buck's Good Earth would sit down to tea and do their business with other business/town folks (read: men).
...and snacks of sunflower seeds and peanuts in the shell.
Yum.
In the background a history of teahouse furniture.
A cool chandelier.
And great storytelling in mandarin.
A history of tea kettles and tea pots.
*****
Goodbye Chongqing - it was fun.
The Teahouse was a highlight!!!
